It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Connie Jean Baker of Carterville, Illinois, who passed away on February 4, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Matt Kerber and Eleanor Kerber; and her brother Tom Kerber. She is survived by : her son Ryan Baker; her husband Joe Baker; her son Andrew; and her siblings, Mary Jane Nimmo, Cindy Busick, Greg and Tony Kerber. She is also survived by grandchildren.

“My deepest sympathies to Connie's family. Connie Kerber was the very first friend I ever had in my life. We went to school together K through 12th grades. Connie was the one who broke the news to me on the jungle gym at Sibley Grade School that there was no Santa. Yes, she did. I remember it like yesterday. She was a very kind and special person, and she will be greatly missed by many. Cindy Stein Gierich”
