He was predeceased by: his parents, Eleanor Josephine (Gott) and Fonzie Mitchell Reed; his wife Sharon Kay Owen; and his brother David Reed. He is survived by: his children, William Mitchell Reed (Kathy), Michael Allen Reed (Tally) and Katherine Sue Kane; his grandchildren, Kelsey Russell (Dustin), Alisha Reese (Dakota), Mitchell Kane (Brooke), Taylor Martin, Olivia Reed (Michael), Grayson Reed (Ploenpit), Fausha Champley (Brad), Vanessa Meinert (Mike) and Danielle Meyer (Bronson); and his brother-in-law Larry Owen. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Carterville or to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
