With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lena Kay Salyers (Carthage, Illinois), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Salyers and Margaret Salyers (McDaniels); her sons, Terry Lee Van Velkenburgh and Lewis Edward Van Velkenburgh; and her sisters, Mary Weisinger and Nancy Baxter.
She is survived by: her siblings, David Salyers of Keokuk, Bonnie Milligan of Oakland, Connie Weisinger (Edward) of Tioga, Theresa Corethers (Kenny Cooper) of Keokuk and Danny Salyers (Judy) of Burlington, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Annabelle Van Velkenburgh and Terry Joe Van Velkenburgh. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
