He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Kennard and Frances Kennard; his wife Lynn Kennard; his grandchildren, Cory and Brittany Smith; and his daughter-in-law Denise Kennard.

He is survived by: his children, Dawn Owren (Chad) and Michael Kennard; his grandchildren, Melinda Klamer, MacKenzie Nichols (Whalen), Mak Kennard (Natasha), Andrew Fleeman (Sarah) and Zachary Kennard (Kai); his great grandchildren, Elizabeth Klamer, Kennedy Nichols, Adelyn Nichols, Andrew Nichols, Sophie Kennard, Erik Dockins and Raiden Owren; and his sister Sheila Mattice (Dan).
