Nicholas Lee Ditzler Obituary
Nicholas "Nick" Lee Ditzler, 38, of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away on October 15, 2021. Nick was born to John "Nick" and Alicia (McNeill) Ditzler on September 3, 1983, in Maryville, Illinois. He was a member of the Laborers' Union Local 44 in Collinsville, Illinois. He worked for many years at RM Sewer Service. Nick was a former Collinsville Raider, class of 2002, where he was an incredible basketball and football player.
Nick was a hard worker, a great person, and friend. He loved his children with his all; he always tried his best, and was "one of a kind". He loved to laugh and to make others around him laugh too. He enjoyed listening to music, but his favorite thing was to spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Derrick Ditzler; grandfather, John G. Ditzler Sr.; uncle, Terry Ditzler; and baby, Perry Tyler Ditzler.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly Ditzler of Maryville, Illinois; parents: John "Nick" Ditzler (Lisa Paul) of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Alicia Ditzler of Caseyville, Illinois; grandparents: Brenda and Ronald McNeill of Caseyville, Illinois, and Sandra Ditzler-Thomas (Joe) of Palmetto, Florida; children: Hayley A. Ditzler of Caseyville, Illinois, Alexandria Leigh Jean McQueen of Belleville, Illinois; Easton T. Ditzler of Maryville, Illinois, and Nicholas Lee Ditzler Jr. of Missouri; uncles and aunts: Ronald McNeill of Caseyville, Illinois, John and Linda Maher of Phoenix, Arizonia, Jeanie Ditzler Ward, and Lisa Ditzler Conaster of Palmetto, Florida; nephew, Landon C. Ditzler of Fairmont City, Illinois; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Herr Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Collinsville, Illinois. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Sedabres officiating. Cremation will follow services and inurnment will take place at a later date at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Belleville, Illinois.
