It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Vila L. Hird (Catlin, Illinois), who passed away on September 22, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Vila L. Hird to show support.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Lloyd Campbell and Lois Campbell; her children, Randy Hird (Chris) and Candy Miller (Dennis); her grandchildren, Daniel Miller (Jenny), Rachel Sherck (Chris), Aaron Hird (Amy), Brandon Hird (Jill), Andrew Miller (Emily), Denton Hird (Mariah) and Michaela Pierce (Kaleb); her siblings, Trella Pabst, Letha Tucker, Dorothy Reed, Dale Campbell and Calvin Campbell; Haiti and India. She was also cherished by parents, grandparent, great-grandparent and friends.

The family will also remember Dick during this time as previous COVID restrictions were in place when he passed way.

“When we think of Sister Vila, we think of her love, care, and working hard for others and for Haiti. She was always optimistic. The Haitians dearly loved her smile and how her words tumbled over each other to be spoken. I had looked forward to seeing her here, but I can still look forward to seeing her.
