We bid farewell to Arthur Austin Jr. (Cave in Rock, Illinois), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 4, 2025 at the age of 91. Arthur touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Arthur T. Austin, Sr. and Verdna Barnard Austin; his grandmother Myra Barnard; his great-grandparent Susie Barnard; his sister Veldene; his brother-in-law Jim Kenreck; his stepchildren, Dennis Daymon and Rebecca Beavers; his nephew Tim Oxford; and his brother-in-law Herb Oxford.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his son David (Suzanne) of San Antonio, Texas; his sister Faye Oxford of Cave-In; his brother-in-law Ben Hohler (Loretta) of Wyoming; and his aunts, Laura Switzer of Mt Vernon, IL and Norma Barnard of Harrisburg, IL. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild, several nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Rock First Baptist Church (461 Mill St, Cave-In-Rock, IL 62919). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, December 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Cave Hill Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Cave Hill Cemetery or Mt. Zion Cemetery.
