The family announces the passing of June McDowell of Cave in Rock, Illinois on October 17, 2026. June, born on April 20, 1931, was part of many shared moments and relationships throughout life. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Prentice B. McDowell; and her parents, Joseph Lewis and Cleta Lewis. She is survived by: her children, Charlie McDowell, Elaine Fricker, Steve McDowell and Vanita "Tinker" Anderson; her grandchildren, April Throgmorton, Destrey McDowell, Heather Ricketts, Lee Fricker, Amy Willett, Sidney Anderson and Autumn Anderson; her great grandchildren, Paige McDowell, Drew Throgmorton, Adam McDowell, Alex McDowell, Anna McDowell, Gavin Ricketts, Lucas Ricketts, Morgan Fricker, Landon Fricker and Whitlee Fricker; and her brother Lonnie Lewis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Potters Church (452 N Mill St, Cave-In-Rock, IL 62919). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Cave Hill Cemetery.
