It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverna B. Simmons of Cave in Rock, Illinois, who passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeremiah Dihel and Emma Dihel; her sister Freda Mitchell; and her former husband Rhudell Van Hooser. She is survived by: her husband George Simmons; her daughters, Helen Spinks (John) and Rebecca Kramer (Dewey); and her grandchildren, John Spinks II, Melissa McKaig, Jessicca Murphy, Timothy Spinks, Rathon Zilbar, Jeremy Kramer, Nichole Kramer, Justin Kramer, Tiffany Meier and Brittany Tootell. She is also survived by several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and 1 great- great-great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hardin County Funeral Service (6 Stone Church Rd, Rosiclare, IL 62982). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Stone Church (6 Stone Church Rd, Rosiclare, IL 62982).
