He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Roper and Maxine Roper (Howard); his wife Loretta Doszak; and his brother Ray Dean Roper. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Jake Roper (Peyton), Brianna Roper (Kellen), Blake Roper, James Dimock, Katelynn Roper, Dillon Roper, Benton Roper and Ivy Roper.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home, located at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801.
