He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Guthrie and Helen Guthrie (Bozarth); his sister Betty Black (Bob); his son Daniel Guthrie; and his granddaughter Nicole Ann Guthrie.
He is survived by: his wife Ida Mae; his children, Davy Joe Guthrie (Shelly) of Centralia, Dori Ann Guthrie of Centralia, Diana Mae Rainey (Tom) of Centralia and Deneen Payne (Tim) of Centralia; his grandchildren, Janet Renick (Crow), Jessica Guthrie, Jeremy Payne (Ashton), Jacob Hamilton, Kacey Guthrie, Janell Schulz (Nate), Kara Black (Josh) and Jera Payne (Chad Hedrick); his great grandchildren, Dekota Renick, Ashley Renick (Brandon Pope), Katie Renick, Brylan Guthrie, Braylee Guthrie, Rylee McIntosh, Brantlee Payne, Penelope Payne, Lia Payne, Ian Hamilton, Daegan Foster, Griffin Johnson, Levi Schulz and Destiny Black; his great great grandchild Aurora Pope; and his great grandchildren, Danny McNeil and David.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Church (1171 Livingston St, Carlyle, IL 62231). A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family kindly suggests memorial donations in David's memory to his family.
