He was predeceased by : his parents, Charley Downes and Stella Downes (Allen); and his brothers, Webb, Charles and Ivan Downes.

He is survived by : his nephew Wil Downes (Tressie) of South Carolina; and his pets, Snoopy and Kitty. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
