With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Gerald E. Spear Jr. in Centralia, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald E. Spear Sr. (Jerry) and Jessie Ramsey (Ragsdale); and his son Robert Scott Spear. He is survived by: his daughter Robin Butcher of Centralia; his brother John Spear of Collinsville, Illinois; his granddaughters, Brook King of Iuka and Brittany Pate of Davenport, Iowa; and his nephews, Bradley Spear of Wichita Falls and David Spear of Great Falls, Montana..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home (235 N Sycamore St, Centralia, IL 62801). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to the Centralia Humane Society and will be accepted at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home, located at 235 North Sycamore Street, Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618) 532-3523, who is honored to serve Jerry's family.
