He was predeceased by : his parents, Wendell Rush and Alice Rush (Barnes); his wife Freddie Mae Jones; his siblings, Doris Meeks, Sandra Bell, Harold Rush and William Rush; his sons, Alden Ray Rush and Darwin Rush; and his grandsons, Raphael Rush Jr. and Darwin Rush Jr..

He is survived by : his children, Abcjean McGill (William) of Chicago, Ella Mae Worthy of Clarksville and Raphael Rush (Diane) of Centralia, Illinois; his grandchildren, Moneta McGill, Tasha Rush, Taneshia Rush, Reginald Rush, Wendell Rush, Terrell Rush, Shaquille Rush, Aaron Owens, Aldrienne Rush, Bryant Worthy, Monique Furlow, Nicole Rush and Joshua Rush; his brother Vernon Rush (Rose) of Houston, Texas; his brother-in-law George Bell of Friendswood, Texas; his daughters-in-law, Diann Rush and Cecilia Rush; his caregiver Christy Kuder (Bryan); and his son-in-law Larry K. Worthy. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
