We are sad to announce that on January 22, 2026, at the age of 91, James William Jackson of Centralia, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Jackson and Gladys Jackson; his wife Patsy Jackson (Epperson); and his sister Jeanette Brashear. He is survived by: his children, Timothy Jackson (Colleen) of Effingham, James Kemp of St. Louis, MO and Jill King (Michael) of Vine Grove, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Derek Jackson, Meredeth Jackson, Makenzie Bruns (Robert) and Lindzie Terry (Dalton); his great grandchildren, Jonathan, Kayleigh, Saad Timothy, James, Jackson, Knox and Jeffery; his siblings, Dean Jackson (Juanice) of Wayne City and Janie Stephens of Fairfield; his brother-in-law Larry Brashear of Orchardville; and his close friend Mary Auxier. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends.
He took advantage of a National Science Foundation grant to study at Purdue University before receiving a master's degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
