He is survived by: his wife Amelia Merkelbach of Centralia; his children, Sandra Mitchell of McKinny, Carl "Corky" Coker (Debbie) of Walnut Hill, Peggy Bradley of Richland, John Merkelbach of Centralia, Anne "Libby" Hudson and Andrew of Perryville, Missouri; and his sister Sara Ruth Alphin of Springfield, Illinois. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
