It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lennon Ray Mefford of Centralia, Illinois, born in Penrod, Kentucky, who passed away on December 20, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Harvey Jackson and Esmer Pearl Mefford (Peay). He is survived by : his wife Laura Mefford (Freeman); his sister-in-law Marian Corderio of Fortuna, California; his siblings, Bonita Ayers, Ima Chwascinski and Wilbur Mefford (Theresa); and his siblings-in-law, Landon Powers, Sterling Hamilton, Allen Freeman, Ila Murphy, Paul Murphy and Eddie Corderio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Lennon's honor to the Illinois Sheriff's Association.
