It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonard Newcomb of Centralia, Illinois, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Doy Newcomb and Faye Newcomb; his siblings, Charles and Juanita; his significant other Mary Joyce Newcomb (Cooner); and his brother Francis.
He is survived by: his siblings, Phyliss and Stanley; his children, Cathy, Pam, Cindy, Lenny, Tina, Penny, Nathan, Elsa, Terry, Tim and Aaron; his great grandchild Rocky; his stepsons, Todd and Eric; and his son-in-law Mark Miller. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Macz Funeral Home - Centralia (234 S Elm St, Centralia, IL 62801). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fouts Christian Church (1629 E Dix-Irvington Rd, Centralia, IL 62801). A burial was held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 at the Fouts Christian Church Cemetery (1629 E Dix-Irvington Rd, Centralia, IL 62801).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Leonard by extending kindness to a stranger, mowing a neighbor's lawn, or showing up early to church just to say hello.
