With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lester T. Byrd Jr. of Centralia, Illinois, who passed away on July 9, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Lester T. Byrd, Sr. and Eliza E. Byrd; and his siblings, Rev. Melvin R. Byrd, Loren E. Byrd, Ruth E. Venezia and Sarah E. Baun.

He is survived by : his wife Permelia Byrd of Centralia; his sons, Gary A. Byrd (Barbara Byrd) of Foley and David R. Byrd of Centralia, Illinois; his grandchildren, Gary Byrd, Jr. (Stefanila Byrd) of Perryville, John Byrd of Perryville, Shauna Crocker (Rob Crocker) of Springfield, Christopher Byrd (Susan Byrd) of Maryland Heights, Nathaniel Byrd (Stephanie Moore) of St. Louis and Kayla Byrd of Trussville, Alabama; and his sister Mildred M. Hutchinson of South Carolina. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren.
