He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Ellis and Catherine "Katie" Ellis (Uhls); his brother Wally Ellis; his sister-in-law Norma Ellis; his parents-in-law, Bill and Norma Nofrey; and his son-in-law Joey Daugherty.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Ellis of Centralia; his children, Tischa Daugherty (Larry Penland), Tony Ellis of Texas, Tim Ellis (Mary-Katherine) of Georgia, Todd Ellis of Mt. Vernon and Tom Ellis of Centralia; his siblings, Dale Ellis (Cathy) of Wamac, Brad Ellis of Cobden and Patty Ellis of Virden; and his sisters-in-law, Brenda Berger, Kathy Nofrey, Debbie Opolony (Jim) and Lisa Passman (Don). He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home (235 N Sycamore St, Centralia, IL 62801). A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Park (2500 Old 51 Rd, Sandoval, IL 62882).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wild Bunch, reflecting Michael's lifelong commitment to sports and community.
