It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Opal Hines (Centralia, Illinois), who passed away on January 22, 2026, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Lawrence J. Wallace; her spouse Elder Willie Dan Hines; her sister Alberta Carter; her son Curtis Hines; her granddaughter Cassondraw R. L. Cawthon; and her great grandchild Nico Velazquez.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny L. Wallace (Jackie) of Jacksonville, Crystal V. Wallace (Ronald) of Southaven and Ronalyn A. Wallace of Centralia; her sibling Parmela Jean Hadley; and her grandchildren, Christopher Wallace, Clifton Wallace, Leighton Cannon, Mandy Wallace, Cristy "Cris" Cawthon, Ronika Cawthon, Jamie Wallace, Laura Ashby and Regina Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home located at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Opal's Family.
