He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Burkett and Lydia Burkett (Booth); his son-in-law Dan Gittemeier; his brother Ronnie Burkett; and his brother-in-law Roy Young.

He is survived by: his wife Velma Burkett of Centralia; his children, Janet Vahlkamp (Al) of Salem, Beverley Gittemeier of Centralia and Robert "Robbie" E. Burkett (Tracy) of Salem; and his siblings, Glenn Burkett (Shelba) of Centralia, Jim Burkett of Florida, Dale Burkett of Salem and Pat Young of Salem. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In remembrance of Bob, the family invites memorial donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shriner's Children's Hospital.
