He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Carter and Mamie Carter (Lawson); his wife Linda Lou Peters; and his daughter-in-law Wanda Carter. He is survived by: his children, Lori Van Matre (Tom) of Cerro Gordo and Les Carter of Cerro Gordo; his great grandchildren, Luca Coffman, Lane Champion, Russ Carter, Noah Carter, Layton Wolff, Ariah Cuervo and Rhyatt Devall; and his sister Ruby Walters of Cerro Gordo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
