It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Christine Mechling of Champaign, Illinois, born in Urbana, Illinois, who passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the vast expanse of eternity, Christine shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Christine farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Constantine "Gus" Chrisagis and Dorothy Chrisagis (Van Ostrand); her husband Steve Mechling of Champaign; her daughters, Kate Mechling of Champaign and Leigh Anne Mechling of Pesotum; her grandson Weston Rohl of Pesotum; and her brothers, Tony Chrisagis (Marla) of Arcola and John Chrisagis (Becky) of Tolono.
