He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Fernandes and Jane Fernandes Keeney (McCann); and his brothers, Steve and Mike Fernandes. He is survived by: his wife Marietta (Higgins); his daughter Elizabeth (Liz) of Palm Springs, CA.; his siblings, Diane Bergeron (Rod) of Springfield, IL, Deb Wesch (Alan) of Scottsdale, AZ and Phil Fernandes of St. Louis; his siblings-in-law, Christine Arango (Joe) of Puerto Rico, Michael Higgins of Champaign and Terry Higgins of Tuscola; and his godson George Arango.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys Scouts of America Prairielands Council, Champaign, IL.
