We announce the death of Frances Mooney of Champaign, Illinois, born in Hamilton, Illinois, who passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Warner and Harriet Burch; and her brothers, Eugene Smith, Fredrick Smith, Carl Smith, Davent Smith, Phillip Smith and Stanley Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Edward Mooney (Constance Owens-Mooney) and Robert Mooney (Melissa Mooney); her siblings, Maxine Smith and Bernell Smith; and her husband Samuel Mooney.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Leek & Sons Funeral Home (1215 W Bradley Ave, Urbana, IL 61801). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
