He was predeceased by: his parents, Giadona Mayfield and Minnie Mayfield. He is survived by: his wife Deloris; his children, Ann Lesshaffett, Cheryl Cleaver, Alan (Cheryl), Melanie Edbrook, Greg Byars (Rebecca) and Jeff Byars (Michelle); and his siblings, Tom (Rose), Bill (Ruthie), Kenny (Evonne), Linda Pickard (Danny) and Brenda Sivori. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church (600 E Pennsylvania Ave, Urbana, IL 61801). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pennsylvania Avenue Baptist Church or Carle Hospice.
