She was predeceased by : her parents, Henry Essenberg and Anna Wilcox Essenberg; her husband Gerald Chapman; her brother Harold; and her children-in-law, Thomas Exton and Shelley Chapman.

She is survived by : her children, Holly Exton of Tolono, Kelly Simons (Peter) of Dunn Loring, Virginia and Christopher Chapman of San Leon, Texas; her grandchildren, Sheila Albers (Matt), Kirk Simons (Christine), Alice Simons and Joseph Chapman (Lisa); and her great grandchildren, Davis, Kalvin, Vivian and Titus.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
