Mary Sue Shay Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Sue Shay (Champaign, Illinois), born in Tiffin, Ohio, who passed away on February 7, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, John Baumgardner and Luella Dehn; her siblings, Jan Baumgardner, Carl Forest and Martin Baumgardner; and her brother-in-law John M. Shay.

She is survived by : her husband Tom; her sons, Christian Shay and Michael Shay (Amy); her granddaughters, Eva and Molly Shay; her nieces and nephews, Damien Nash, Felix Baum, Austin Forest, Joe Baumgardner, Kristen Caven, Cassidy Forest Smith and Carly Forest; and her sisters-in-law, Mary Baumgardner and Viviane Forest.

During the pandemic, every Saturday morning without fail she would line dance in the parking lot of the Regent Ballroom wearing a mask.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Eastern Illinois Food Bank.
