It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard W. Gomperts of Champaign, Illinois, who passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, John Gomperts and Maryellen Gomperts (Brittenham); and his brother-in-law Henry Debelak. He is survived by : his wife Gladys June Walter; his siblings, John Gomperts (Sandra) of Urbana and Donna Debelak of Westchester, IL; and his extended family, Tateyana Hunt and La Dimond Keyes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
