He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Gilles and Margaret Scheurich Gilles. He is survived by: his children, Timothy Gilles (Lynn) of Mahomet, Daniel Gilles (Sharon) of Champaign, Cindy (Dave Wilson) of Champaign, Susan (Charlie Lowary) and Laura Lindsay of Tolono; and his sister Beth Koehnemann of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Morgan Memorial (1304 Regency Dr W, Savoy, IL 61874). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Matthew Catholic Church (1303 Lincolnshire Dr, Champaign, IL 61821).
