She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Pherigo and Elizabeth Pherigo (Culp); her husband John E. Ackerman; her siblings, Diane Garner and Mike Pherigo; and her grandson Lance.

She is survived by: her sons, John Ackerman, Jr. of Mt. Sterling, Daniel Ackerman (Tammy) of Baton Rouge, Joseph Ackerman (Heather Krohe) of Virginia, Joshua (Gina Curry) of Rushville and Justin Ackerman (Jennifer) of Springfield; her grandchildren, Blain Lyons, Gavin Ackerman, Sam Ackerman, Easton Ackerman, Charlie Ackerman and Hannah Ackerman; her great grandchildren, Michael and Colton; her siblings, Nanette Shaner of Virginia, Rick Pherigo of Chandlerville, Allen Pherigo (Karen) of Chandlerville, Ronnie Pherigo (Andrea) of Chandlerville and Debbie Justice (Larry) of Virginia; and her brother-in-law Terry Garner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
