Betty F. Hammitt Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2025, at the age of 82, Betty F. Hammitt of Channahon, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Phelps and Imogene Hutchison; her husband Gary D. Hammitt; and her daughter Lois A. Clements. She is survived by: her sons, G. Scott Hammitt (Barb) of Coal City and Jeffrey T. Hammitt (Sherry) of Inverness, Florida; and her grandchildren, Ryan Hammitt (Ashly), Breann Cumming (Ryan), Jessica Stearns (Gary) and Danielle Sanocki (Tom). She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory (2320 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Lightways Hospice or a charity of your choice.
