With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Herschel E. Carriger of Chapin, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Darwin Carriger and Madaline Blair Carriger; his son Joseph Carriger; and his siblings, Helen Coats, Harold Carriger, Hettie Carriger, Hal "Dee Dee" Carriger (Linda) and Harley Carriger.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Grant of Chapin; his children, Barbara Gatlin (late Charles) of Jacksonville, Jerry Carriger of Chapin, Daniel Carriger (Julia) of Chapin and Shane Carriger (Monica) of Bluffs; and his siblings, Jack Carriger (Vickie), Howard Carriger, Herb Carriger (Sheri) and Sheryl Brooks.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Daws Family Funeral Home - Winchester (657 N Main St, Winchester, IL 62694). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials are suggested to the Chapin American Legion.
