It is with sadness that the passing of Carl E. Black of Charleston, Illinois is shared. Carl, born on June 10, 1941, passed away on October 20, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Black and Ruby Black (Green); his close friend Howard D. Rogers; his daughter Mary Kay Drake; his stepmother Klara Black; his stepsisters, Tanya Ferguson and Chrystal Edgin; his brother Bob Black; his siblings-in-law, Jerry Leonard and Ethel Loveall; and his pets, Lilly and Missy Poo.
He is survived by: his significant other Howard D. Rogers; his son Douglas Black; his grandchildren, Brandon Willenborg, Nathan Durham, Kimberly Mullin (Joshua) and Kenton Willenborg; his brothers, Elmer Black (Twila) and John Black (Mary); his stepsisters, Valerie Leonard and Stancey Granger (John); his sisters-in-law, Marie Black, Gail Hildebrand (Tom) and Phyllis Black; and his pet Ozzy. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Paul McVey VFW Post 1592 and American Legion Post 93.
