He was predeceased by : his parents, Ivan Sparling and Loraine Sparling (Deters); his son Daniel "Beepers" Raymond Sparling; and his siblings, John Killian Sparling, Ivan Sparling, Vera Ballinger and Linda Ballinger.

He is survived by : his wife Maxine Smith; his children, Rick Sparling, Jerry Brookins (Vicky), Leslie Romack (Jay) and Tammy Tammen (Brad); his grandchildren, Tevin Brookins, Adalida Tammen, Camden Tammen, Tamar Brookins, Kinsey Romack, Layla Tammen, Kyle Romack, Alena Sparling, Danny Sparling and Rayna Sparling; his great grandchildren, Finntan John Patterson and McKaylynn Grace Brookins; and his siblings, Francis Sparling, Tommy Sparling (Carole), Mike Sparling (Linda), Kathy Brown, Mae Courtright, Dottie Jo Peacock (Ted) and Mary Thull (Adam). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
