It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Louise Johnston of Charleston, Illinois, born in Arcola, Illinois, who passed away on November 25, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Earl Bright and Louise Bright (Ghere); her husband Ray Johnston; her son Dean Owen Honn; her son-in-law Tony Poynter; her sisters, Lila Carey, Nancy Baker and Donna Thornton; and her siblings-in-law, Craig Thornton, Myron McGregor, Max Carey and Reta Bright.
She is survived by: her children, Max W. Honn (Sherry) of Mt. Vernon, IL and Darla Poynter of Tuscola, IL; her grandchildren, Bill Schuster, Jake Honn, Jarrick Honn, Jaydon Honn, Erica Campbell, Jason Tabb and Lindsay Nguyen; and her siblings, Harry Bright of Mt. Zion, IL and Mary McGregor of Oakland, IL. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, December 4th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home (221 E Main St, Arcola, IL 61910).
Her contributions to those roles reflected her strong work ethic and commitment to her community.
