He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father Carl; his son Kurt; his mother Lula; his brother Jean; his children, Fritz Jaenike (Donna) of Cedar Park, Kristen Ballsrud (Dave) of Grapevine, Katherine Labinski (John) of Austin and Gretchen Norman (Ted) of Morrison, Colorado; his grandchildren, Karli, Kayla Jaenike, Nicholas, Jacob Ballsrud, Matthew, Mark Labinski, Andrew and Sam Norman; his great grandchildren, Beau and Davis Ballsrud; and his sister-in-law Trudy Tribbett (Bill) of Greenville. He was also cherished by grandchildren spouses; step grandchildren.

Memorials in his honor may be given to the EIU Foundation - Jaenike Access to the Arts Endowment or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
