He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Nelson and Melvina Nelson (Hensley); his son Bradley Hewitt; and his brother Glenn Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Nelson; his children, David Nelson (Elizabeth) of Staunton, IL, Susan Kessler (William) of Chatham, IL and Nancy Moore (Joseph) of Chatham, IL; and his grandchildren, Michael, Meaghan, Josephine, Kenneth, Jacob and William. He is also survived by 13 Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Social Service of Illinois or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
