It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gustav Carl Bretscher of Chatham, Illinois, born in Springfield, Illinois, who passed away on June 24, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav J. Bretscher and Josephine Nims Bretscher; his wife Eva Marie Cook; and his sister Josephine Bretscher. He is survived by: his children, Michael Bretscher (Luz) of Chatham and Carla Goebel (Brian) of Girard; his grandchildren, Victoria Bretscher (Schyler Thompson), Michael Bretscher (Kristen), Chris Moore (Cristen), Travis Moore and Alex Moore (Bella Stoneking); and his great grandchildren, Everly Rose Bretscher, Addison Nicole Bretscher, Samantha, Chris, Jr. and Sawyer Moore.
