He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvie M. Speaks and Lucille Bearden Speaks; his former wife Wilma Fisher; and his siblings, Ernest, George, Dick, Donald, Robert "Lefty" Speaks, Carolyn Merriman, Wanda Freeman, Imogene Cummings and Raymond Speaks.
He is survived by: his wife Eileen Speaks of Chatham; his children, Linda Harmony (Mike) of Champaign, Jeff Speaks (Veronica) of Springfield, Larry B. Speaks (Peggy) of Springfield and Joseph Speaks (Libby) of New Berlin; and his sister Bonnie Speaks (John Halstead) of New Berlin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
