Peter Rooney Obituary

Peter Rooney, born on August 1, 1936, passed away on October 19, 2026. Peter leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Rooney and Mary Rooney (Simpson); his former wives, Donna K. Westmorlan and Donna Rooney; his daughter Terri Shiffer; his siblings, Mary Baculas, Elizabeth Feltz, Thomas, James and George Rooney; and his granddaughter Heather Deanne Rooney.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lynn Arvin; his son Kevin Rooney of Auburn; and his sibling Marion Rooney of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Butler Funeral Home-Chatham (8855 State Rte 4, Chatham, IL 62629). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
