As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Douglas may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elly C. Poehlke and Bobbie J. Hurt; and his stepfather Terry Miller. He is survived by: his wife Yvonne Hurt (Henderson) of Pontiac Il; his children, Andrea Jenkins of Gilman and Levi Bennett (Lindsey) of Charleston Il; his siblings, Ingrid Emling of Wisconsin, Katherine Nelly Sholz (Wilfried) of Germany and Ken Hurt (Gesa) of Texas; and his stepmothers, Mary Miller of Bloomington Il and Barb Hurt of Fairbury, IL. He is also survived by many stepbrothers and sisters, nieces, nephews.
