It is with sadness that the passing of Aaron Lee Smith of Cherry Valley, Illinois is shared. Aaron, born on May 20, 2009 in Rockford, Illinois, passed away on September 21, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Aaron will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Aaron by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Aaron is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Aaron’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He is survived by: his siblings, Grant Smith and Jade Schutte (Chandler); his grandparents, Jennings and Donna Smith; and his father Jesse Smith. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory (1860 S Mulford Rd, Rockford, IL 61108). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Marshmallow's Hope in Aaron's memory.
