He was predeceased by: his father John Schmidt; and his stepfather Lanny Moran. He is survived by: his mother Gloria Pitman of Capron, Illinois; his wife Jody Pitman of Cherry Valley; his children, Allison Pitman of Wichita, Kansas and Benjamin Pitman of Cherry Valley; and his sister Lori Schmars (Durean) of Capron, Illinois. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family members, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Lions of Illinois in Rob's memory.
