He was predeceased by: his parents, Maria Mendez and Aurelio Mendez; and his siblings, Margarita Payan (late Jose) and Petrita Mendez. He is survived by: his wife Maria S; his children, Rudolfo "Rudy" Mendez (Consuelo), Irma Laneros (Tomas), Conrado Mendez (Olivia), Carmen Salazar (Guillermo), Ernesto Mendez (Sofia), Maria Avila (Jose), Roberto and Gerardo Mendez; and his sister Maria Luisa Carillo (Guadalupe).
Visitation was held on Friday, February 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home (530 W 14th St, Chicago Heights, IL 60411). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 14th 2026 at 9:15 AM at the same location.
