She was predeceased by : her husband John Nickel; her parents, Matthew Sherlock and Robina; and her sisters-in-law, Delores Sherlock and Maureen Sherlock.

She is survived by : her children, David Merrick (Melodie), Carol Merrick and Timothy Merrick; her grandchildren, Lindsey Reilly (Brendan), Liam Merrick, Adam Lesnicki and Ashley Lawrence; and her siblings, Jimmy Sherlock (Marie), Tommy Sherlock, Paul Sherlock (Lucy) and Isobel Hoole (Merv).

Visitation was held on Friday, March 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Curley Funeral Home (6116 W 111th St, Chicago Ridge, IL 60415). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 15th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
