He was predeceased by: his parents, Rafael and Maria; and his siblings, Pedro Maria Alonso, Maria Elisa Matute, Rafael Alonso and Ruth Esperanza Cathedral.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Alonso; his children, David Edgardo Alonso, Mayra Alonso Pressler, Radahirsa Alonso, Daniel Alonso, Doranellys Alonso, Elizer Alonso and Elizabeth Alonso; his grandchildren, Amanda, Sonia, Kristin, Kayley, Megan, Giovanni, Jesus, Dariel, Galilea, Isabella and Keydan; his siblings, Esther Alonso and Misael Alonso; and his close friends, Julio Garcia and Magdelena Alonso.
