She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond John Knoll and Donna Mae Bender (Ypma); her stepfather George Devon Bender; her son-in-law Confesor Martinez; and her grandson Joshua Lionheart Martinez.
She is survived by: her husband John Lee Thompson; her children, Kimberly Mae Martinez, James Lee Thompson (Andrea), Curtis John Thompson (Michelle) and Katheryn Mae Quintanilla (Flavio); her brothers, Douglas Knoll (Kathryn), David Knoll and Dennis Knoll; and her stepuncles, Glenn and David Blossom. She is also survived by her 22 grandchildren; and her first great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Armitage Baptist Church (2451 N Kedzie Blvd, Chicago, IL 60647). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 10:00 AM.
