Elena touched many lives and will be remembered fondly for the moments shared and the memories created. Family, friends, and colleagues extend their love and support during this time. While Elena’s presence will be missed, the influence she had on others will remain. Those who knew her will carry forward memories that reflect her character and spirit.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Nicu Burlacu; and her nephew Stefan Liviu. She is survived by: her grandchildren, Alexandria Guzan (Adam) and Victor; her sister Livia Tulcan; and her nibling Teodora-Simona.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Nativity Romanian Orthodox Church (5825 N Mozart St, Chicago, IL 60659). A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 at the Rosehill Cemetery (5800 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60660).
